We are the VanDuzee's (Debbie/Terry). We are petitioning the U.S. Government. Terry is a Canadian Citizen and Debbie was born and raised in the US; we have been married since September 2002. It took us over 2 years to have Terry be able to come to the US for a visit. The US Government/Department of Homeland Security would not allow him across the US/Canadian border because; in 1977-1979 he had three simple counts of possession of marijuana under 30 grams in Canada which he has a Canadian pardon for (One of the charges, was when Terry was 17 years old - a minor in the US). A short time after crossing the US border (November 2004), we applied for an adjustment of status (click the updates button to see the current status). We have completed all forms/documents etc that we have been required to do. However, Terry is about to be deported because of this rediculous law. Both of us do agree that there must be rules in place, but we believe that in some cases, there should be an evaluation of the "person". People change. Terry has not been in any trouble at all since 1979 and has turned his life around completely; including becoming a Christian; and it is "this person" that should be evaluated for entry to the US, not the "Old Person" from many many years ago. We are asking for your signature to show your support in our attempts to be together. Please sign and make a difference. Thank you and God bless you!
